Band students entering 6th and 7th grades will be provided again with a summer band camp in Woodstock. The camp will be held at Emricson Park from July 9th-13th, from 10am to 1pm, concluding with a concert on Friday, July 13th at 7:00 p.m. in the Woodstock Square. The concert will be the culmination of the week of practice and fun. The camp is run by the District 200 Band Directors.May 9, 2012

For even the most successful students, the long summer break can lead to a drop in the level of skills in core areas like reading and math. For students who are already struggling, the problems with skill retention are even greater. Eight students in the Northwood Middle School Challenge Corps program have been given an opportunity of a lifetime, but it also comes with a big challenge. The Corn Stalkers robotics team has been invited to compete in the Open European Championship in Manheim, Germany in June, but they must pay their own way in order to participate.February 29, 2012
