Summer Band Camp is Week of July 10th

D200 band students entering 6th, 7th or 8th grade in the fall are invited to attend the district’s annual Summer Band Camp.  The camp runs for one week, from July 10-14, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. each day.  Camp takes place at Emricson Park in Woodstock under the large covered picnic area near the softball fields.  On Friday July 14th, band campers perform a final concert in the Woodstock Square at 7:00 p.m., showcasing the work and progress from the week. Band Camp is a fun way to meet up with old friends and make new friends; and it’s a terrific way to keep playing over the summer.

Volunteers Needed for 8th Grade Reality Store

The 8th Grade Reality Store is badly in need of volunteers!  The Reality Store is a life skills simulation resembling The Game of Life, in which students get to make real-life financial decisions based on a monthly “paycheck” they receive for a selected occupation.  Each of the stations in the Reality Store is staffed by members of the Woodstock area business community who work in the areas represented in the Reality Store, such as realtors, car dealers, insurance agents, and child care providers.  This year’s Reality Store will be held on May 22 at Creekside Middle School from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. (for both Creekside and Northwood students).
